Mixed Media Collage
age' has always been a favorite media of mine, mainly from a graphic point of view. I love the way photos and words look combined together, taking my own photos as well as magazine photos combining them with a photocopy technique to add layers of the same image. From the base of images adding even more dimension with paints, inks, and various textures of paper and cardboard, it really becomes a 'free for all' sort of blank canvas that ends up a textural 3-dimensional landscape. Perseverance is key to mastering this technique which is subjective to the viewer or possibly a radical point of view in using multi forms of materials to create this technique. I have a unique approach, as do all artists'.
I work with a variety of subject matter and mostly like to use random faces or pop star icons that i personally love, but are not typically familiar. My website has category of mixed media collage to check out. This series focuses literally on words, muted earth tones and textures. Enjoy the visual puzzles and take time soak in the possible meaning of each piece. New collage style art will be featured, so if collage is your thing, subscribe to our mailing list and keep up on what's new.
